UnityPoint Health - Pekin has a full-service, on-site medical diagnostic laboratory to serve the needs of our patients and physicians. We provide laboratory testing and pathology services to both inpatients and outpatients. Our clinical laboratory is College of American Pathology (CAP) and American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) inspected and accredited every two years, ensuring the highest standard of quality.

All I need is to have my blood drawn - is there a way to get it done quickly?

Yes. Call (309) 353-0410 twenty-four hours in advance to schedule an appointment and pre-register over the phone. Having pre-registered, you will be able to arrive at the exact time of your appointment (as opposed to arriving early). You may also park at the Park Avenue entrance in the 10-minute parking spaces, because you won't be inside long. These appointments are specifically scheduled to prevent backlogs.

Who staffs the lab?

The lab has a very dedicated staff comprised of medical laboratory scientists and medical laboratory technicians. The lab's committed techs, along with their advanced equipment, enable excellent turnaround time when it comes to processing specimens.

Does the lab have collection services for healthcare providers?

Outpatient collections are performed in our Patient Service Center Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Saturday, 6:00 a.m. to noon. Our reference lab provides pick-up of physician office specimens Monday through Friday. We provide collection services and STAT testing for several Pekin nursing homes. Our friendly staff will help you with any collection questions or issues.

How do I get my medical test results?

All test results are faxed to your physician. Please contact your physician for results. You can also obtain a copy of your labs in the Health Information Department located on 2 South, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Please allow up to 24 hours to obtain records. If you're registered, you can also access our patient portal for results.

What should I do if I am interested in donating my own blood for my surgery?

Contact your physician or the Peoria American Red Cross at (309) 636-4285 for special donation procedures.
